Fine Selection

Fine Selection offer both handmade, hand-knitted, and locally designed clothing and knitted accessories, and now a new on-site alterations business.

Owner Irem works as a seamstress with the social collective The Social Studio, a non-for-profit fashion enterprise working with local refugees and new migrant communities. Her skills as a seamstress enable her to combine Fine Selection’s beautiful collection of ready to wear fashion with the addition of a clothing alterations service.

Fine Selection was established as an online store in January 2021 in Melbourne. Their main objective is to support 'good goods', which means they only have products made of natural fibres. Their Turkish towel and robe collection are all made from bamboo and linen.

Fine Selection's lounge wear collection 'The Cozy Wear' launched here at South Melbourne Market. All products are made in Melbourne and made from same special fabrics crafted in Turkey and being a perfect match with their robes. During production process, they create scrunchies and bags from the fabric scraps to achieve zero-waste production.

Their dressing gowns and towels are handmade in Turkey and most of them are unique (or very limited quantity). Besides the traditional production process the style and the materials are timeless. They are totally different from classic Turkish towels because they were made of organic bamboo which is more sustainable, more absorbent, and softer than cotton.

The small business in Turkey that makes these beautiful collections gives a lot of attention to detail, they only use Gots certified dyes and are Oekotex Certified. And they proudly have no plastic in any of their process.
