What's the fuss?

Truffles, the hidden gems of the culinary world, have been captivating food enthusiasts and tantalising taste buds for centuries. These elusive and aromatic fungi possess an unparalleled ability to elevate dishes, adding an exquisite and earthy flavor to any culinary creation. Don't shy away from the allure of truffles and discover how to harness their enchanting essence in your own kitchen.

Truffles have the remarkable ability to transform ordinary dishes into extraordinary culinary experiences. Incorporate grated or shaved truffles into classic recipes like pasta dishes, risottos, or scrambled eggs to impart a sophisticated and luxurious touch. Their robust flavor complements the creamy textures of dishes such as truffle mac and cheese, truffle-infused mashed potatoes, or truffle butter for steaks.

Georgie’s Harvest

Located on Coventry Street - Georgie is our resident Australian truffle supplier and she is ecstatic about this year's season! "This is one of the strongest starts to truffle season I've ever seen" she proclaims.

Despite truffles having a stigma for being an unaffordable luxury ingredient, this season's bountiful harvest means they're not unattainable, selling for $2.50 - $3.00 per gram.

If you're a little unsure of how to use fresh truffles in your culinary creations, Georgie has created unique truffle packs. Grab one to create your own fresh black truffle salt or infused butter!

They are incredibly affordable and highlight additional Australian produce including Gippsland Jersey Butter and locally sourced sea salt. And if you need a little guidance, Georgie is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to seasoning your dishes with the coveted black fungi.

Pro tip: Truffle butter should only be used to finish your dish for optimum flavour!

Truffle season lasts until the end of August! The Market is open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am!
