National Ride2Work Day at South Melbourne Market

Ride, recharge and reconnect as National Ride2Work Day returns to South Melbourne Market.

Wednesday 14 October 2026 6.30am - 9.30am

In partnership with Bicycle Network and the City of Port Phillip, we’re transforming Cecil Street into a vibrant cycling hub with free breakfast, drinks, bike services, live music, giveaways and activities for the kids.

Whether you ride to work every day, are getting back on the bike or simply want to join the morning’s festivities, cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome.

As the largest Ride2Work Day. celebration in the City of Port Phillip, and one of the biggest events of its kind in Melbourne, it’s the perfect way to start your day and connect with the local cycling community.

  • Zwift bike challenge and bicycle-themed giveaways at the Bicycle Network pop-up hub
  • Blend your own smoothie on the Smoothie Bike presented by the City of Port Phillip’s Transport and Sustainability team
  • Port Phillip Bicycle User Group pop-up hub

Live entertainment and children’s activities

There’s plenty to enjoy off the bike too, including:

  • Bicycle skills and safety playground for children by Bicycle Network
  • Live music from Nina Clare and Ania Reynolds
