Hands On With FOGO

Discover how your food scraps can help create a greener future in this fun, hands-on workshop with Thom from Repurpose It.

Perfect for families and curious gardeners aged 3 and up, this interactive session will introduce the basics of FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) recycling, including what belongs in your green-lidded bin, what doesn't, and what happens to your organic waste once it's collected. Learn how food and garden scraps are transformed into nutrient-rich compost and soil that can be used to grow more food and support healthy gardens.

Then, get your hands dirty as you learn how to make your own recycled newspaper seedling pots and plant seeds to take home and grow.

You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions about composting and waste reduction and discover simple ways to get involved in the City of Port Phillip's sustainability initiatives.
