Simply Spanish - Tier 2 Exposure Site

    Published 1 June 2021
Simply Spanish will reopen on Friday 4 June.
We have been made aware by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that Simply Spanish at South Melbourne Market is a Tier 2 exposure site.
A diner visited Simply Spanish on Thursday 27 May between 2pm and 3.30pm and has subsequently tested positive to coronavirus.
The Market is not open on a Thursday (only some restaurants and cafes are), and the diner confirmed they sat outside and did not use any internal facilities. It is due to this limited contact that Simply Spanish is graded as a Tier 2 exposure site.
South Melbourne Market is not deemed an exposure site and will reopen under current COVID-19 restrictions on Wednesday 2 June.
DHHS requests that anyone who has visited Simply Spanish on Thursday 27 May between 2pm and 3.30pm should urgently get tested, then isolate until confirmation of a negative result. Continue to monitor for symptoms and get tested again if symptoms appear.
Simply Spanish is working with DHHS on the requirements for reopening including all staff getting tested and isolating until they receive a negative result, and a deep clean on the restaurant. The Simply Spanish team have our full support and we will work with them to get their fabulous restaurant open as soon as possible.
