Rooftop Carpark Rates Change

Published 29 April 2025
The new rates will come into effect from 9 July.

The Market's rooftop carpark is accessed via Coventry Street and has 270 parking spaces, including six designated accessible spaces and two electric vehicle charging spaces.

As per previous years, parking fees will increase from early July in line with the Victorian Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Victorian Government’s Congestion Levy. These fees form part of the City of Port Phillip Council budget process that will be adopted in late June 2025.

The proposed* rooftop carpark fees will come into effect from Wednesday 9 July and can be found in the table below.

To note:

  • Stays for under two hours on Wednesday and Friday will still be free.
  • Fees have increased by $1 for shorter stays and a maximum of $2 for longer stays.
  • The Weekend Early Bird rate will continue. Enjoy free parking on Saturday and Sunday for stays under two hours if you enter before 10am.

*These rates form part of the City of Port Phillip budget process which will be finalised in June 2025. These rates are the proposed fees for the Market’s rooftop carpark from 9 July 2025 at the time of publishing, and therefore subject to change.

Please Note:

  • Weekend Early Bird applies to vehicles arriving before 10am on Saturdays and Sundays and staying for under two hours.
  • If the Market is open for an extra trading day (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), the weekday Market carpark rates will apply.
  • A flat Night Rate of $7 applies all days. The Night Rate applies to vehicles that arrive after 6pm and depart before 10.30pm on the same day.
  • The Market's rooftop carpark will be going cashless and ticketless from 26 May 2025. Click here to read more.
