Orthodox Easter

This year Orthodox Easter falls on Sunday 12 April, and the Market is your one stop shop for all your Orthodox Easter essentials.
The centrepiece of many gatherings is a whole roasted lamb or goat on the spit, symbolising the Lamb of God. Guests enjoy appetisers like Greek olives, tzatziki, pita and other traditional dips while the feast cooks.
Festive favourites such as Tsoureki, koulourakia, and other sweet treats are also enjoyed throughout the day. After the midnight church service, families light their Lambada candles and take part in the traditional red egg cracking, symbolising new life and renewal.
From premium meats and fresh herbs to breads, sweets, and specialty ingredients, the Market has everything you need to bring an authentic Orthodox Easter feast to life.

Try making a Greek inspired ceviche by curing a firm white fish such as snapper with plenty of lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt, then garnishing with capers, red onion and parsley. Or bake a whole fish for the table topped with chopped tomatoes, olives, onion, garlic and lemon, which will self-sauce in the oven — delicious.
