Bewitched and bedazzled by these Market treats!

All Hallows Eve falls on Monday 31 October this year and you may want to prepare in case of visits from little ghouls and monsters in search of sweet treats!

Whether or not you want to dish out tricks or treats, show your participation by decorating your gate with a homemade jack o' lantern from one of the smashing pumpkins available at one of our Fruit & Veg traders.

We've put together some of the many options for scary looking sweets or healthy alternatives at the Market below with some ideas on creating your own.

There's also easy plenty of Halloween dinner theme options such as pumpkin lasagna from The Fresh Pasta Shop, or try making these cute Monster hamburgers! Pick up the ingredients from Cobb Lane Bakery (brioche buns), protein from one of our butchers, fishmongers or poultry shops (protein, or vegan options from Moses and Co) cheese from a Deli and get the kids involved.

Make Your Own Halloween Treats

Donut bats or spiders - buy an iced donut from La Lapa and make legs with pretzels, or wings with licorice straps and eyes with white chocolate buttons from the Nutshoppe to make a cute and delicious spider!

Pumpkin Gingerbread cookies - using the Gewürzhaus Gingerbread Spice. Cut the dough with a round cookie cutter then shape as pumpkins. Make icing with orange food colouring, use licorice straps to make triangle eyes and zip stitched mouths.

Spider pizzas - use kalamata pitted olives to make spiders on top of your pizza. Place one whole olive in the centre and slice the others to make legs. Or use a cherry tomato as the body and sliced red capsicum as legs.

Grab a pizza base from Pickadeli and sprinkle your favourite topping for an easy dinner!

Dress the Part and Decorate

Koenji Vintage have a fabulous vintage Mickey Mouse Halloween T-shirt and an orange jumpsuit, perfect for answering the door to trick n' treaters.

Stem bouquets - buy a bunch of roses from one of our florists and cut the flowers off. Place the stems in a vase (like Morticia from the Addams Family) or keep the rose on and make eyes to go in the centre.

Toilet roll eyes - Cut two eye shapes out of one side of the roll and place a glow stick inside. Then put outside in bushes or trees to scare passers-by.

Mummy jars - use old bandages to cover empty glass jars, make eyes out of white and black cardboard, then put a tealight inside.

Dress the part with this vintage tee from Koenji Vintage!
