Celebrating International Yoga Day with Raja from Luna & Soul

For Raja, yoga is more than just a physical practice. “It’s a way of life that helps me navigate the everyday with greater clarity, intention and kindness - especially as a mum and small business owner,” she says. “It’s also a reminder to practice self-care and to look after ourselves - including standing up for ourselves when something doesn’t feel right.”
Her label, Luna & Soul, was born out of this philosophy - inspired by the ethics of yoga and a desire to create sustainable, timeless pieces made from natural materials. “I used to work in fast fashion, and saw firsthand how rushed, disposable and profit-driven it could be. I knew there had to be a better way - one that respected people and the planet.”
Today, Luna & Soul offers a consciously curated collection of yoga wear and lifestyle pieces designed to support you on and off the mat. Think breathable leggings, organic cotton tanks, nourishing affirmation cards, and beautifully made journals - all created with kindness and intention.

At the heart of Luna & Soul is Raja’s deep connection to yoga - not just as a practice, but as a way of living. Her favourite poses, Child’s Pose and Shavasana, help her stay grounded, especially during stressful times. “They remind me that stillness can be just as powerful as movement,” she says. “That’s something we really value at Luna & Soul - creating space for people to breathe, move and live mindfully.”
Mindfulness flows through every part of her creative process, from choosing eco-friendly fabrics like organic and recycled cotton, to ensuring every piece feels as good as it looks. “I want every item to support ease, comfort and confidence - not to impress, but to empower,” she says. “Yoga teaches us balance and connection, and that’s how I try to run my business every day.”
As for celebrating International Yoga Day? Raja begins the day with grounding rituals, like burning Palo Santo and journaling, before carving out time for a full yoga class. “This year’s theme, One Earth, One Health, is such an important reminder. Our wellbeing is deeply tied to the wellbeing of the planet.”
She also invites the community to visit Luna & Soul this International Yoga Day. “We’ll definitely be doing something special to celebrate. I recommend popping by our stall, signing up to our newsletter or having a look online - we’ve got a few surprises in store...”
When asked what she loves most about being at the Market, Raja doesn’t hesitate: “The people. It’s like a little family here. The Market team believed in my vision from the beginning, and that support has meant the world. Some customers even come just to chat, breathe and reconnect, and I love that we’ve created that kind of space.”
As Luna & Soul continues to grow, Raja hints at new pieces and projects in the works - though true to her brand’s values, she’s taking the time to get it just right. “Everything we do is intentional. Small, sustainable brands face big challenges, but with every conscious purchase, you’re helping us to keep going and keep creating.”

You can visit Luna & Soul in Centre Aisle every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am, or explore their collections via their website.
Happy International Yoga Day - may it be a gentle reminder to breathe, move, and reconnect.
