Held at Georgie’s Harvest, the evening brought together more than 100 guests from local media, the restaurant industry and the broader food community to celebrate Huey’s remarkable career, stories and long-standing connection to the Market.
Despite the wet weather, it was a truly beautiful evening, with live music, catering by Pizzateca Lupa and plenty of heartfelt stories shared by Huey. Guests had the opportunity to hear more about his life in food and hospitality, as well as his special connection to South Melbourne.
The Market holds a special place in Huey’s heart, having previously operated a restaurant just across the road. His memoir includes some lovely references to South Melbourne Market, making it especially meaningful for us to host this milestone event here.
