"A Pasta Tour" Cooking Demo with Pia Gava
Join us for an Italian-inspired morning in the Food Hall Courtyard with Pia Gava as she takes us on a journey through Italy's rich pasta traditions, exploring how geography and culture have shaped the iconic dishes of each region.
In her new book, A Pasta Tour, Pia invites readers to discover the origins of iconic pasta shapes such as orecchiette, pici and ravioli, along with the sauces traditionally served with them, including pesto alla Genovese, ragù alla Bolognese and carbonara.
Enjoy a free live cooking demonstration as Pia shares delicious recipes, practical cooking tips and inspiration from her new book. Presented in partnership with Mary Martin Bookshop, this special event will take place on Saturday 21 November at 11am. All are welcome.
Pia Gava is a Melbourne-based Italian-Australian cook, author and MasterChef Australia 2017 contestant. Growing up in a close-knit Italian family, she learned to make pasta and traditional dishes from her parents, fostering a lifelong love of food.
