Help shape the future of South Melbourne Market

South Melbourne Market will be undertaking improvement works in the coming years to ensure the Market is safe, accessible and enjoyable for all visitors.

These works will ensure we are in line with building regulations, accessibility and that we are enhancing visitor safety. This involves adding more toilets, making the rooftop carpark more accessible and easing the flow of traffic for vehicles and pedestrians.

Our aim is to enhance the customer experience, while retaining the feel of a community market that our visitors have enjoyed for over 150 years.

We’re connecting with our local community and Market traders to hear your preferences around when the Market is open, how you use the Market, how the proposed changes will impact you, and how you think we can improve public space around the Market.

• Completing the online survey via the City of Port Phillip Have Your Say website. The survey will open on 3 November and closes at 11.59pm, 3 December 2023.
• Chatting to us in person at one of the community pop-up activations.
